Kara Ellen Weilandich, 50, of Richmond, died Sunday morning (February 10, 2013) at Reid Hospital. She was born December 6, 1962 in St. Louis, Missouri. A native of St. Louis, she and her son moved to Richmond in 2001. Kara was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She had been involved in Seton Catholic Schools since 2002. She ran the book fair for several years and made gift baskets for the school carnival. Kara was the Charter Representative for Boy Scouts of America Pack 100, Troop 100 and Crew 100 chartered by St. Mary Catholic Church. She was co-owner of All Occasion Gift Baskets for several years. She is survived by her son, Salvino Vincent; father, George W. Weilandich; mother, Patricia Friedman; sister, Dwan (Henry) Doherty; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Kathleen, Patrick and Maureen Doherty; grandfather, Russell Friedman; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, paternal grandparents and two brothers, Jon Charles Weilandich in 1961 and George Russell Weilandich in 1995. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday (February 15, 2013) in Saint Andrew Church. Father Kevin Morris will officiate. Friends may call on Friday (February 15, 2013) from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seton Catholic High School or to Saint Andrew Church, either in care of 240 South 6th Street, Richmond, Indiana 47374.
