Kathleen E. "Kathy" Wetzel, age 66, formerly of Richmond, died Tuesday (June 4, 2013) at the Reno Life Care Center in Reno, Nevada. She was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1946 to John and Margaret Welsh Conrad and had lived in Richmond most of her life before moving to Nevada eight years ago. She was a graduate of Richmond High School and Earlham College and had attended Indiana University East. Kathy had taught school and later served with the non-profit organizations Senior Opportunity Services in Richmond and Easter Seals in Reno. She was a former member of Holy Family Church in Richmond. Her husband, James C. Wetzel, Jr., died on August 8, 1995. Survivors include her sons - John (Jennifer) Wetzel and James (Melissa) Wetzel, III both of Independence, Kentucky; grandchildren Olivia, Brooke and Sophia Wetzel. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday (June 10, 2013) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Deacon Frank Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
