Keith William Cates, age 71 of Richmond passed away Wednesday (May 26, 2021) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on May 25, 1950, to Karl and Roberta Cates and was a lifelong resident of Wayne County. Keith grew up southwest of Centerville on a farm and graduated from Cambridge City-Lincoln High School, class of 1968. He worked at Hooks Drugs until it consolidated into CVS in the late 1990s. Keith also worked at Dillard's, American Red Cross and Meijer before retiring.

He is survived by his aunt Betty Huber and numerous cousins. He is proceeded in death by his parents and brother David Cates.
