Obituary

Kenneth J. Berry, age 63, of Richmond, died Wednesday evening (February 6, 2013) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Spring City, Tennessee on February 14, 1949 to Paul Boyd and Lillie Mae Reed Berry and had lived here most of his life. He had owned and operated Ken Berry Cement Contracting and was a licensed real estate broker and auctioneer. Ken was the developer and former owner of the Bel-Air Self Storage. He was a licensed minister and Home Missions Director for the Indiana ALJC and was a member of Oak Park Church. He was a long-time coach and commissioner for the Richmond Little League. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Debbie Berry; son, Matt Berry of Richmond; daughter, Tabbath (Ted) Seger of New Paris, Ohio; brothers, Roy Berry and Paul (Kathy) Berry, Jr. both of Richmond; sisters, Mavis Smith of Englewood, Ohio and Jeanette (Arvil) Hurst of Kettering, Ohio; grandchildren, Blake Berry, Madison Berry, Meaghan Robinson, Kendra (Gus) Duty; great grandson, Oden Duty and great granddaughter, Lennox (to be born in April of this year). In addition to his parents, a son, Kenny, Jr. and four brothers, Raymond Berry, Virgil Berry, Arvie Berry and Johnny Berry are also deceased. Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday (February 11, 2013) in Oak Park Church (1920 Chester Blvd.). Rev. J.B. Kelly of Bloomington, Indiana will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (February 11, 2013) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Indiana ALJC Home Missions, 332 West Payton Street, Greentown, Indiana 46936.
