Kenneth R. Merkamp, age 84, of Richmond, died Thursday evening (September 14, 2006) at Reid Hospital.� He was born in Abington Township on March 31, 1922 to Robert and Eva Wissler Merkamp and had lived here all of his life.� He was a farmer and a member of Holy Family Church.� He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and the National Farmers� Organization.� His wife of 61 years, Alma Merkamp, died April 2, 2005.

A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Monday (September 18, 2006) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Church.� Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery.� Friends may call on Sunday (September 17, 2006) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.�
