Kevin R. Schenk, age 70 of Richmond passed away Tuesday February 4, 2025 at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond, IN on April 29, 1954 to Kenneth and Reba Napier Schenk and had lived in the area most of his life. Kevin retired from Belden Wire after 40+ years and enjoyed spending time with his family.
An avid outdoorsman, Kevin found great happiness in camping, holding seasonal spots at Grandpa's Farm and Deer Ridge campgrounds. His love for the water was unmatched as he owned a bass boat and participated in Pro Am fishing tournaments across Kentucky, Indiana, and Michigan. A skilled fisherman, Kevin cherished the peaceful moments spent on the water with family and friends.
In addition to fishing, Kevin enjoyed the thrill of metal detecting and magnet fishing, always on the lookout for hidden treasures. He had a soft spot for nostalgia and spent many hours watching old movies, as well as engaging in exhilarating slot car racing. He was also a passionate collector of pocket knives, each holding a special story and memory.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Steve Schenk and daughter Stephanie Schenk; 3 grandchildren including special grandson Garrett Schenk and special friends that are considered family, Jeff (Judy) Jackson. He is preceded in death by his wife Tonja O'Neill Schenk; parents Kenneth and Reba Schenk.
