Lance L. Culbertson, age 59, of Richmond, died Sunday morning (May 20, 2018) at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Richmond on March 18, 1959 to Lowell "Dick" and Doris Gath Culbertson and had lived here all of his life. He began working on cars at age 12 and continued in that work for the rest of his life. He began working at Sonny's Standard and then co-owned and operated the Carport with Ted McKillip. He then worked for Riverside Auto before opening and operating 12th Street Auto. Family was very important to him and he always took care of those around him. The world revolved around his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughters Kathy Culbertson and Crystal Culbertson; brothers and sisters Leslie Culbertson, Lois Culbertson, Lisa Culbertson, Laura (David) Halcomb, Lorraine (Larry) Smith and Tim Culbertson; grandchildren Dillon, Bryleigh and Karsyn; many nieces and nephews on both his side and his late wife's side of the family. He is also survived by his long-time friend, Joe Vecera, with whom he spent many days enjoying breakfast and "solving the world's problems". He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Betty Culbertson, who died on April 29, 2014.

Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (May 25, 2018) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Friends may call on Friday (May 25, 2018) from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home
