Larry E. Bass, age 64, of New Paris, died Monday (September 19, 2008) at his residence.� He was born in Baltimore Maryland on� November 26, 1943.� He was raised in Richmond and graduated from Richmond High School and had lived in the New Paris area for a number of years.� Larry was a US Army veteran of the Viet Nam War where he served in the Special Forces.� He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and of the New Paris American Legion Post 360� He was an avid gun collector.�
Survivors included his son - Larry (Barbara) Bass II of Eaton, Ohio, daughter - Nicole (Mathew) Barnard of Richmond; brother - Harold McNew of Muncie, Indiana; sisters - Sharon Wolfe of Georgia and Sandra Patterson of Norfolk, Virginia;� 6 grandchildren and a great grandchild due to be born in March of 2009, nieces and nephews�
His mother, Easter Mae McNew, a brother, Charles Bass, and a sister, Sheila McBeath are also deceased.�
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday (September 23, 2008) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.� Friends may call on Tuesday (September 23, 2008) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.� www.riggle-waltermann.com
