Obituary

Laura Alice Manley, age 85, of Richmond, died Saturday afternoon (April 1 2006) at Golden Rule-Beverly Healthcare with her family at her side.� She was born in Franklin County, Indiana on October 30, 1920 to Charles E. and Maud Castillo McWhorter and was a graduate of Brookville High School.� She was a retired 30 year employee of Joseph H. Hill Company.� Alice and her husband, Bill Manley (who died in 1994) retired to Bonita Springs, Florida in 1979 where they enjoyed the company of many friends and numerous activities.� Alice was an active member of the Fort Myers Christian Church.� After retiring in 1995 as a 10 year employee of the Bonita Springs Library, she returned to Richmond to be close to her children and grandchildren.� In Richmond, Alice was a 67 year member of the First Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Golden Band Sunday School Class.� She was also a 50 year member of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority.� She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and took great pleasure and pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.� Alice managed her considerable health challenges with grace, courage and dignity and was an inspiration to many.

�������������������������� Ann (Mark) York of Richmond;

Great Grandchildren - Lauren York, Gavin York and Alexandra Fish;

Step-Great Grandchildren - Brayden, Danielle and Dallas.

Nieces, Nephews, Cousins

Two sisters, Shirley Linegar and Nellie Newman, are also deceased



A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday (April 7, 2006) in First Christian Church (100 South 10th Street).� Rev. John Hollis will officiate.� Burial will be in Bryan Cemetery.� Friends may call on Friday (April 7, 2006) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
