Laura E. Philhower, age 94, of Richmond, died Thursday evening (February 24, 2005) at Golden Rule - Beverly Healthcare. She was born on December 23, 1910 in Morocco, Indiana to Roy O. and Ruth Sheridan Ewan and came to this area in 1935 living in Richmond, Economy and Greens Fork. She attended Morocco schools and graduated from the Anderson Beauty School in Richmond. She was a beautician for 50 years and owned LaBelle Beauty Salon. She had also worked for Perfect Circle/Dana Corporation for 24 years. She was a member of Saint Andrew Church and a former member of the YMI Auxillary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles H. Ewan, and husbands Ted Bell, John Burton and Leslie Philhower
A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday (March 1, 2005) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Andrew Church. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (February 28, 2005) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Church or to Seton Catholic Schools both in care of 240 South 6th St. Richmond, Indiana 47374.
