Obituary

Lawrence W. "Larry" Lahrman, age 82, passed away Monday (July 13th 2015) at his residence. He was born December 5th 1932 in Richmond to Lawrence J. and Alma Bussen Lahrman and had lived here most of his life. Larry was a 1950 graduate of Richmond High School where he played varsity baseball and track. He attended Earlham College prior to entering the U.S. Navy, where he served during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956. He was the owner of Larry Larhman's Home Improvement Company and Richmond Overhead Door from 1960 until 2002. He coached Optimist Little League baseball from 1965 to 1973, and was an assistant coach for American Legion Baseball in 1974. Larry was a member of the Richmond Elks #649, Home Builder's Association, YMI, and Richmond Evening Optimist Club, Holy Family Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus #580. He loved his faith, family, friends, business, travel, golf, and Notre Dame Football. Survivors include his wife Bonnie Gose Lahrman, whom he married on October 22nd, 1955; son Michael (Judy) Lahrman of Dallas, Texas; daughters Karen Lahrman of Dallas, Texas and Lori (Don) Wolfal of Richmond; grandsons Dale (Samantha) Brooks of Richmond, Matthew Lahrman of State College, Pennsylvania, Daniel Lahrman of Boston, Massachussettes, and Robert Lahrman of Dallas, Texas; great grandsons Trenton Brooks, Carter Brooks, and Owen Brooks of Richmond. Visitation for Larry will be held on Monday (July 20th 2015) from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (July 21st 2015) at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church. Father John Leurman will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Seton Catholic High School (240 South 6th St. Richmond, IN 47374)
