It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Lee A. Pegg, who left us on May 7, 2025, at the age of 57. Lee was born on December 31, 1967, in Richmond, Indiana, and later made his home in Liberty, Indiana. He was happily married to Kerri Kim (Bowling) for 34 wonderful years, tying the knot on December 15, 1990.
Lee dedicated over 20 years to serving his country, first in the Army (4 years) and then with the National Guard (16 years). He later channeled his work ethic into a 30-year career with Molson-Coors (Miller Brewing) as an electrician, where he became known as a hard worker and a true right-hand man. His family often referred to him as a bit of a workaholic. Lee jokingly referred to himself as a delicate flower.
A huge fan of the band Rush, Lee found joy in music, travel, and sharing his infamous "Dad jokes" with his daughter Maura. He was also a proud member of Vettes Unlimited, where he enjoyed showcasing his love for all things Corvette. Above all, he deeply loved his family and cherished his role as husband, dad, and papaw. Lee was a strong provider for his family and instilled wisdom in his children and grandchildren. They created memories that will last a lifetime.
Lee will leave behind his loving wife Kim; his children Maura Pegg, Kerri (Josh) Hooker, Chrissy (Bobby) Boone, and Brittney (Greg) Hornsby; his grandchildren Machayla (Craig) Dingwerth, Payton Benner, Alivia Boone, Emma Boone, Logan Boone, Landyn Hornsby and Aubrey Hornsby and great-granddaughter Penelope. He is also survived by his brother Keith (Beverly) Pegg, nephew Luke Haney, and many other nieces and nephews. His lifelong friends Scott Guthrie, Bob Raper, and Brent Wolfe will forever cherish the memories they created together.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Anna Pegg, his sister Barbara Shealey, and his brothers Frank and Jimmy Woods.
A public viewing will take place on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary, where everyone is welcome to come and share in celebrating Lee's life. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Ben Smith will officiate. Burial will take place immediately following the service.
We invite all who knew and loved him to join us as we say our goodbyes and honor this remarkable man's legacy. Lee will be deeply missed but always remembered.
