Leland F. "Bud" Cox, Jr., age 81, of Richmond, died Friday evening (March 14, 2014) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond on July 16, 1932 to Leland F. Sr. and Marjorie Nelson Cox and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and served in the Marines and in the Navy during the Korean War. Bud was a retired employee of the United State Postal Service, where he worked for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Carol Cox, with whom he would have celebrated 57 years of marriage in July of this year; children, Dayna (Donnie) Cox Richard of Richmond, Joe (Terri) Cox of Richmond; brother, Tom (Nancy) Cox of Richmond; grandchildren, Nicki (Mark) Hoffman, Loree (Matt) Cooper, Dylan Richard; great grandchildren, Audrey, Abe and Charlotte Hoffman, Jackson and Quinton Cooper; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Stapleton; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, a sister, Marilyn Smith, is also deceased. The family would like to extended a special thank you to the nurses and staff on 4 East at Reid Hospital, especially Teri and Amy, for their exceptional care and compassion. Friends may call on Wednesday (March 19, 2014) from 4:00 p.m. To 7:00 p.m. at Riggle ��" Waltermann Mortuary. Private services will be conducted on Thursday (March 20, 2014) with entombment in Earlham Mausoleum where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
