Leo Merritt, age 75, of Richmond, died Monday (November 22, 2004) at his residence. He was born in Richmond on December 12, 1928 to John A. and Ollie Justice Merritt and had lived here all of his life. He had owned and operated Merritt Plastering and was a retired 26 year employee of JC Penny Company. He was a US Army veteran.
Survivors include - Wife - Violet Merritt to whom he was married 50 years
Son - D.L. Merritt
Daughters - Karen Boyd of Richmond
Marilyn Sue Filling of Somers Point, New Jersey
Sister - Ida Mae Gray of Richmond
Grandchildren - Brent Williams, Patrick Boyd, Angela Boyd, Taylor Wilson, Eric Carman, Kelli Davis and Jamee Stout

Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday (November 27, 2004) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Mark Hinshaw will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday (November 27, 2004) from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends after the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
