LeRoy Burge, age 79 of Richmond passed away Sunday (October 22, 2017) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on May 17, 1938 to Earl and Martha Davis Burge. LeRoy graduated from Richmond High School in 1956 and married Mary Kay Brooks Burge on December 5, 1959. After high school he went to work for Dana Corp. where he retired in 1996 after 35 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and working in his barn. LeRoy cherished spending time with his family and he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Laurie (Dale) Carr and Steve (Kim) Burge; grandchildren Joseph, Sara and Tyler Carr, Holly (David) Gutierrez, Heidi (Paul) Rushing and Toby (Meghan) Hollinger and 10 great grandchildren. LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Martha and his wife Mary Kay Burge.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday (October 29, 2017) at Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Chaplain JB Bennett will officiate. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in LeRoy's name to the local 4-H (861 Salisbury Rd. North Richmond, IN 47374) or Choroideremia Foundation for the Blind (23 East Brundreth St. Springfield, MA 01109-2110).
