Linda Susan Von Pein, 75, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at Golden Rule Care Center.
Linda Von Pein was born on February 17, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Justus and Della Parrish. She was a graduate from Concordia High School and Indiana University with degrees in Psychology and German. Linda was fluent in German and after graduating, she worked in Oberstdorf, Germany. She was co-owner of Advanced Travel of America where she embarked on a fulfilling career as the co-owner of a travel agency, where her passion for exploration and adventure guided countless individuals on their journeys around the world. She served on the board of directors of the travel organization SKÅL International. She was also active in the Richmond community.
Linda had a gift for turning travel dreams into reality. Whether it was planning intricate international itineraries or finding the perfect cruise for a relaxing getaway, she approached each client and trip with dedication and expertise. She had a wealth of knowledge about destinations near and far, having traveled extensively herself, notably to Europe and Asia as well as beautiful destinations in the US.
Beyond her professional life, Linda was very involved in enriching and advancing Richmond culture and attractiveness through her leadership on the Wayne County Convention and Tourism Board where she spearheaded the building of the Welcome Center in Richmond. She was a member of Forest Hills Country Club and First English Lutheran Church. Linda was known for her love of nature, her adoration for animals, and her laugh and smile. She loved music of all kinds, history, live theatre, and hosting festive holidays and family gatherings.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband John E. Von Pein, Jr. and her parents, Justus and Della (Nahrwold) Parrish. She is survived by her three brothers and a sister; Dave (Jan) Parrish, Deborah Lucas, Steve (Sharon) Parrish, and Mike (Sarah) Parrish; her stepdaughters Kathy Von Pein-Bruni Dietz and Karla Von Pein Fultz; numerous nephews and their spouses, and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Linda will be from 12 to 2 pm on Friday, June 13 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary, 32 South Eleventh Street, Richmond, Indiana. A service to celebrate Linda's life will follow at 2 pm at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Interment will follow at Lutherania Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to First English Lutheran Church in Richmond, Indiana, to honor Linda.
