Lucille P. Burke, age 93, of Richmond, died Monday evening (February 8, 2010) at Reid Hospital. She was born in Cynthiana, Kentucky on November 24, 1916 to Claude and Effie Banfield Pope and had lived in the Liberty and Richmond area most of her life. She was a homemaker and had owned and operated her own beauty shop. She had also worked in various beauty shops in this area. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter - Mary (Jay) Grimes of Richmond; son - Howard (Jean) Burke of Kansas; brother - Claude Pope, Jr. of Connersville; grandchildren - Michael (Kendra) Burke of Kansas, Mindy Richie of Richmond, Chad Maines of Boston, Indiana, Sindi (Chad) Hoke of West Manchester, Ohio, Robert Burke of Richmond, William Burke of Richmond, Michele (John) Steinbacher of Kansas, Shirley (Kyle) Evans of Kansas, Kristy (Matt) McDivitt of Boston, Indiana, Kathy Turner of Eldorado, Ohio; 17 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents; her husband - Chester Burke, sons - John (Linda) and Joseph Burke, brothers - William Pope, Gurney Pope and sister - Mary Ellen Livers are also deceased. Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday (February 12, 2010) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Ralph Holdeman will officiate. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (February 12, 2010) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
