Maj. Hallie B. Hickey, age 70, formerly of Richmond, died Monday morning (August 29, 2005) at Saint Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Danville, Kentucky on May 3, 1935 to William and Mary Frances Hafley Curren and then lived in Richmond graduating from Richmond High School. She was a graduate of the Salvation Army College for Officer Training and was ordained into the ministry in 1960. She was a retired officer for the Salvation Army where she and her husband served numerous appointments before moving to Leesburg, Florida six years ago. She was a former member of the Altrusa Club and was the founder of the Anderson Women's Auxiliary for the Salvation Army
Survivors include - Husband - Maj. Donald Hickey (to whom she was married 51 years)
Sons - Donald Hickey of Webster, Florida
Lesley Hickey of Saint Charles, Michigan
Daughter - Kimberly Eyler of Leesburg, Florida
Grandchildren - Samantha Marriott, Donald Hickey, Kaisha Hickey, Adam Hickey, Amanda Forwerck, Michael Goad, Alicyn Hickey, Samantha Drielick and Jason Drielick
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday (September 1, 2005) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Major Timothy Parker will officiate. Burial will be later in Leesburg, Florida. Friends may call on Wednesday (August 31, 2005) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends following the service on Thursday at the Salvation Army Citadel, 707 South "A" Street, in Richmond.
