Margaret "Peggy" Blackwell, 91, formerly of Richmond, entered the kingdom of Heaven to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 29, surrounded by loved ones. This matriarch displayed a genteel disposition and a genuineness to everyone she met and will be greatly missed by her family who plan to reunite with her in the presence of Jesus. Born June 3, 1922 in Richmond to Lawrence Zeyen and Jeanette Sullivan Zeyen DuVall, she lived in Richmond and raised her family there until she and her husband retired to Tampa, Florida in 1984. She returned to Indiana in 2012 to be closer to family. Peggy graduated in 1940 from The Academy of the Immaculate Conception boarding school at Ferdinand, IN. In 1942, she married Wayne H. Blackwell. Together they owned and operated Lemon's Florist before turning it over to their son and eventually their grandson. A faithful Catholic, she was a member of St. Mary's in Richmond, St. Clement in Plant City, FL, and St. Joan of Arc in Kokomo and was an active volunteer at Tampa General Hospital for many years. Peggy is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Claudia (Dave) Boles, Anderson, SC; Jane (Edward) Cordell, Kokomo, IN; Nancy (Roy) Dyer, Springboro, OH; her daughter-in-law: Lynda Blackwell, Centerville, IN; seven grandchildren and their spouses, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her son, Jon P. Blackwell; and one grandson, Michael Boles. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call 12-2 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
