Maria J. Linde, 72, of Richmond, IN died Thursday (April 6, 2017) at her home after battling a long illness. Maria was the wife of John Jack Linde and was married for 46 years.
Maria was born in St. Michaels, Azores on April 25, 1944. She was educated in schools in the Azores and graduated from Plymouth High School in Plymouth, MA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luiz and Maria (DeMello) Benevides; brother Joseph L. Benevides and sister Gloria Benevides.
Maria will be missed by her husband; three sons, Kenny (Angie) Silva, Gus (Emily ) Linde, and Erik (Angie) Linde; two step-sons, Michael Linde and James Linde; brother John (Beverly) Benevides. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services for Maria will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday (April 12, 2017) at St. Mary Church. Father Kevin Morris will officiate. Burial will follow in Whitewater Cemetery. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday (April 11, 2017) at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Maria's name to the American Lung Association (1200 Hosford Street, Suite 101 Hudson, WI 54016-9316) or Reid Hospice (1100 Reid Pkwy. Richmond, IN 47374).
