Marjorie "Carol" DeLucio, 86, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2025, after courageously battling a long illness. Born on June 10, 1939, in Richmond, where Carol spent most of her life, surrounded by family and friends.
A devoted homemaker, Carol's greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, whether it was family game night, shopping (especially on QVC), playing bingo, or singing karaoke. She also had a soft spot for the excitement of slot machines and was happiest when creating memories with those she loved most. Carol also had a deep love for her dachshunds, who were always by her side.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, James DeLucio; her children, Tony (Dea) Messler, James DeLucio Jr., Kristy DeLucio, Rodney (Brittany) DeLucio, and Kevin DeLucio; and her grandchildren, Steven Stinson, Tabetha (Art) Baker, Amanda (Fred) Noe, Kara (Tim) Noe, Shara Chestnut, Josh (Samantha) DeLucio, James DeLucio III, Melissa (Zack) Crawford, Jessica (Johnathan) Przybysz, Lindsey (Joe) DeLucio, DiAndra Ogletree, Andria (Jacob) Ellison, Hannah DeLucio, Peyton DeLucio, Coby DeLucio, and Austin DeLucio.
She also leaves behind her friend and sister-in-law Jenny Foreman, her beloved dachshund Sophie, as well as many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Faye Conrad and Fred Smith; siblings, JoAnn Lekamp, James Foreman, and Ken Foreman; daughters, Robin Baker and Tammy DeLucio; grandchildren, Rodney DeLucio Jr. and Danielle Messler-Huntwork; and her cherished dachshunds Duchess and Oscar.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, October 2, at 11:00 AM, burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family welcomes flowers to be sent to Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary or donations made in Carol's memory to Reid Health's Community Benefit Mammogram Program, supporting breast health in the local community.
Carol was known for her humor, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Carol had a way of bringing laughter to any room she entered. Her spirit will live on through the countless memories she created and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
