Marjorie J. Kinder, age 94, of Richmond, died Tuesday evening (March 16, 2010) at Reid Hospital. She was born in Preble County, Ohio on April 5, 1915 tp Homer and Elsie Pitsinger Crowell and had lived in this area most of her life. She was a graduate of Eaton High School. Marjorie met her husband Barney in 1935 after moving to Richmond to attend business college and they were married on December 10, 1938. She had held a number of secretarial positions including that at Riley Elementary School and at Belden Wire and Cable. Marjorie was a very active member of First Christian Church where she taught Vacation Bible School, was a founding member of the Golden Band Sunday School Class, was active with Christian Women's Fellowship and participated in numerous other positions and activities. She also volunteered and participated with Meals on Wheels, WCTU, Bible Study Fellowship, the Richmond Emmaus Community and the singing group Sweet Adelines. Her husband of 65 years, Bernard "Barney" Kinder, died on April 20, 2004. Survivors include her children - Sherrie (Mike) Lofton of Harwood, Maryland, Judy (Mel) Hartman of Richmond, Philip (Nancy) Kinder of Connersville; brother - Donald (Connie) Crowell of Eaton; 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Glen Crowell and Forrest Crowell, are also deceased. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday (March 20, 2010) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Amanda Hines will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Saturday (March 20, 2010) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
