Martha M. Austerman, age 91, of Richmond, died Saturday (January 19, 2008) at Golden Living Center - Golden Rule where she had resided since 1998.� She was born on August 9, 1916 to Oscar and Theresa Kahle Greene.� She attended St. Andrew Catholic School and graduated from St. Andrew High School in 1934 and was a� loving wife and mother since 1935.� Prior to entering the nursing home she was a homemaker and had been an active member and volunteer at the Senior Workers Action Center where she was a member of the Senior Steppers, the Kitchen Band and the Senior Singers.� She received many Certificates of Honor for her many hours of volunteer work with SWAC.�� She was a life-long member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and a former member of the YMI Auxiliary.�� �Survivors include her children - Dr. John (Joellen) Austerman of Mooreland, IN,� Mary Fisher of Richmond,� Richard F. (Sharon) Austerman of Madisonville, TN' Roseann (Dennis) Nicolls of Maumee, OH; eleven grandchildren - Shari (Jim) Penticuff of Cicero, IN' Brian Austerman of Beverly, MA,� Keith (Susan) Fisher of Indianapolis, Kenneth (Lynn) Fisher of Birmingham, AL, Dr. Michael (Kimberly) Fisher of New Castle, Rebecca (Pete) Pfile of Cypress, TX, Willis Austerman of Richmond, David Austerman of Madisonville, TN, Sara (Steven) Shuler of Knoxville, TN, Lori Nicolls of Maumee, OH, Christopher (Meghan) Nicolls of Cumberland, RI;� 17 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law - Eileen (Walter) Hilbert of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews.�
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Austerman, an infant daughter, an infant son, 3 brothers, Raymond, Herbert and Roman Greene,�� 3 sisters - Mae Young, Virginia Johansen, Mildred Weber, a daughter-in-law - Violet Austerman and a son-in-law - Tom Fisher.�
�Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Wednesday (January 23, 2008) in St. Andrew Church, 235 S. 5th St.� Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery.� Friends may call on Wednesday (January 23, 2008) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the church.� Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Catholic Church, %240 South 6th St., Richmond, IN 47374 or to the Richmond Senior Center, 1600 South 2nd St., Richmond, IN� 47374.� Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary is in charge of arrangements
