Marvin E. Jeanes, age 83, of Richmond, died Sunday evening (November 22, 2009) at Reid Hospital. He was born in New Paris, Ohio on September 1, 1926 to Floyd E. and Irene Wehrley Jeanes and had lived in this area all of his life. He was a graduate of Boston (Indiana) High School and was a US Army veteran of World War II where he served in the Infantry and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Marvin was a millwright and worked for Crosley and Avco Corporations for 31 years. He retired in 1988 from Dana Corporation (Hagerstown) after 14 years of employment. He was a member of First Christian Church. Marvin coached little league baseball and helped build the diamonds for the league in Boston. He also coach little league baseball and helped build the diamonds in Centerville where one of the fields is named in his honor Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Marceil Jeanes; sons - Terry Jeanes of Fairfield, Ohio and Tim Jeanes of Arlington Heights, Illinois; brothers - Duane "Pete" (Carolyn) Jeanes of New Paris, Ohio, Harry (Violet) Jeans of Fountain City, Indiana; sisters - Beverly Riggs of Anderson, Indiana, Patty Turner of Richmond; grandsons - Ryan M. Jeanes, Ryder F. Jeanes, Zachary (Jacquelyn) Jeanes, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, a brother, Russell Jeanes, and three sisters, Kay Jeanes, Judith Groves and Winifred Winebrenner, are also deceased. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday (November 28, 2009) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Amanda Hines will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville. Friends may call on Friday (November 27, 2009) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
