Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mary "Elaine" Beauchamp on February 28, 2025, at the age of 75. Elaine was born on June 5, 1949, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana to Willard and Helen Austerman.

Elaine worked at Oakridge Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 20 years where she cared for and touched the lives of many. Elaine lived in Richmond, Indiana until 2005 when she moved to Chesterfield, Indiana where she remained until her death. Elaine liked to spend time laughing and socializing with friends at the American Legion. She was strong-willed and stubborn, but she also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She always put everyone else's needs in front of her own. Elaine's family will fondly remember her for her phone calls to each of them on their birthday to sing Happy Birthday and for her talent in making buttered toast.

She is survived by her husband: Dave Beauchamp of 19 years and dog companion Itty Bitty; her children: Rod Morrison (Julie), David Morrison (Lisa), Chi Benjamin (Jerry), and Russ Beauchamp, her grandchildren: Morgan, Kate and Brandt Benjamin, Courtney Brattain (Corey), Dustin (Stephanie), Hayley, Rhylie and Tristan Morrison, Kari Christie (Scottie), Cole Morrison, and Matthew (Jennefer) and Abby Murphy, her great-grandchildren: Storm and Fletcher Christie, Elena Morrison, Augusta and Benjamin Murphy, Kynslee and Kase Brattain, and Sophia and Dean Morrison, her brothers and sisters: Marilyn Uhte (Jerry), Bill Austerman (Betty), Marty Austerman, Maggie Rosenberger (Mike), Mike Austerman.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents Willard and Helen Austerman, her brother Thomas Austerman, and her husband Bob Deitemeyer whom she loved for 23 years before his death in 2003.

Although Elaine is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Services will be held at Riggle-Waltermann Funeral Home on March 7th with a visitation from 1-2 p.m. and a Celebration of Life immediately following at 2 p.m.
