Mary Cain, age 97, of Richmond, died Monday (March 23, 2009) at Sterling House of Richmond, she was born in Muncie, Indiana on September 25, 1911 and had lived here most of her life. She was a member of West Richmond Friends Meeting and had been an active volunteer at Richmond State Hospital where she and her husband operated the Christmas Store for many years. They had also been active in the Harmony Club. the Lift Club and with the Wayne County Mental Health Association. Her husband of 64 years, Chelmer Cain, died on March 7, 1996. Survivors include her grandson - Don Cain, Jr of Lacey, Washington, four great granddaughters, nieces and nephews A son, Don Cain, is also deceased. Public graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday (March 27, 2009) at Earlham Cemetery. Joshua Brown will officiate.
