Mary E. Caldwell of Richmond, IN, went to be with the Lord on Friday May 15, 2026, at Reid Hospital. She was born in Bethel, Indiana on March 4, 1933, to Robert and Ellen Hall Rothermel. She lived in Richmond for most of her life and had a childcare home for 36 years. Mary was a friendly person; she was nice to everyone she came in contact with. She loved to read, sit and watch birds and she especially enjoyed her favorite TV shows, Hudson & Rex and Doc Martin. Mary attended Ministries of the Lamb Church for several years, she was a loving mother to her four children and she adored all her grandchildren.

Survivors include sons Tim (Heather), Kevin (Bonnie) and Greg Caldwell; grandchildren Lori, Christine, Charlie, Aurora (Ian), Xander, Anthony (Abby) and Mark Andrew (Bree); great grandchildren Austin McKinney, Cody McKinney, Audrey Philpot and Alden Rowland; great-great grandchildren Braxton and Alexander "Bubba" McKinney; great niece Debbie Parker and great uncle David Caldwell; extended family members and close friends Linda and Mike Campbell and Diane Baker. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ellen Rothermel; daughter Teresa and beloved dog Jasmine.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Animal Care Alliance (1353 Abington Pike, Richmond, IN 47374).

No public services will be held at this time.
