Mary A. Gates, age 93, of Richmond, died Thursday evening (January 19, 2012) at Golden Living Center - Richmond. She was born in Delaware County on October 28, 1918 to Lloyd and Opal Koons Kuhn and had lived in this area most of her life. Her husband, Vernon Gates, died April 7, 1988. Survivors include her children - Robert Gates of Richmond, Diana Johnson of Richmond and Stephen Gates of Lynn, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews Two sons, Donald and Stanley Gates, and a sister, Elizabeth Kuhn, are also deceased.
