Mary E. Gwaltney, age 78, of Richmond, died Tuesday morning (March 8, 2005) in Reid Hospital. She was born in Letcher County, Kentucky on June 23, 1926 to Virgil L. and Myrtle Grace Combs LeMaster and had lived in this area for the past 46 years. She was a retired employee of the former Cox's Market and she was a member of American Legion Post 315 Auxiliary where she had served as president for 5 years. Her husband, Ralph Gwaltney, died in 1987.

Granddaughter - Teresa (husband John) Rose of Richmond
Grandson - Jack Lasley, II of Richmond
Sister - Nova Nelle Whitaker of Jenkins, Kentucky

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday (March 11, 2005) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Ronnie Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Thursday (March 10, 2005) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. www.riggle-waltermann.com
