Mary Jane Parker Hunt, age 90, of Richmond, died Thursday morning (June 17, 2010) at Golden Living Center ��" Golden Rule. She was born on September 27, 1919 in New Albany, Indiana to Roscoe and Bertha Klein Parker. She moved to Milton, Indiana as a child and graduated from Milton High School in 1937. She attended Indiana Business College in Richmond and at age 19 became Indiana's youngest Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. She worked in the offices of Sanders Jewelry and Mayers Jewelry. On June 14, 1950, she married Harold W. Hunt and together they had two sons by 1954. In 1957 they moved to Detroit, Michigan where she became active in Masonic activities and also served as president of the Mother's Club at White Orthopedic School. In 1969 they moved to Blytheville, Arkansas where she drove ambulances and hearses for Wayne Corporation. They moved back to Richmond in 1973 and she became active working at election voting poles for many years. She also enjoyed working puzzles and playing euchre with family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 60 years - Harold W. Hunt; sons - Lari (Margie) Hunt of Richmond and Mark Hunt of Richmond; five grandchildren - Angela, Kyle, Adam, Abby and Anna Hunt; great grandchildren - Alexander Hunt, Alexandria Mitchell and Christopher Mitchell, a sister-in-law in Florida and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, her brothers, Henry Parker and Edward Parker, and half brother, John Kirkman, are also deceased. Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday (June 21, 2010) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Paul Mingus will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
