Obituary

Mayme B. Spurgeon, age 93, of Richmond, died Friday afternoon (September 27, 2013) at Rosebud Village. She was born in Richmond on May 4, 1920 to Leo, Sr. and Nettie Tewart Bruck and had lived here all of her life. She was a retired employee of the former PRC Recording and was a member of the Congregation of Jehova's Witnesses. Survivors include four sons, Donald (Beverly) Spurgeon of Nashville, Tennessee, Gary (Dayna) Spurgeon of Frisco, Texas, Michael (Diana) Spurgeon of Scottsdale, Arizona and Larry (Linda) Spurgeon of Richmond; sister, Margaret Sherrow of Richmond; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her husband, J. Lloyd Spurgeon, died January 10, 1982. In addition to her parents and husband, five siblings, Louise Ingram, David Bruck, James Bruck, Leo Bruck, Jr. and Ed Bruck are also deceased. Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday (October 1, 2013) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Minister Tom Wood will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (September 30, 2013) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
