It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Michael Thomas Fisher, a loving father, brother, and friend. Michael was born on February 29, 1964, and left us far too soon on October 1, 2026. He is survived by his fiancé Lynn Hall; son Brady Fisher; daughter Shelby Fisher; sister Rebecca (Pete) Pfile; brothers Keith (Susan) Fisher and Kenneth (Lynn) Fisher; bonus children Travis (Dana) Mathews, Danial Gabbard and Kristina Gabbard; his cherished grandchild, Salem Brown and his bonus grandchildren Payton, Aeris, Kendall and Savannah.

Michael graduated in 1989 from the Indiana University School of Optometry. For 37 years he enjoyed practicing and caring for his patients, owning and operating Fisher Optometry since 2016.

Michael was a true Hoosier at heart, proudly wearing his crimson and cream colors as a die-hard Indiana University fan. His passion for the team ran deep, and anyone who knew him could easily spot him cheering from the stands or sporting his favorite gear.

Beyond work, Michael was an avid golfer. Yet above all these passions, Michael's giving heart was evident in everything he did. He had a soft spot for his dogs, relishing in their companionship and love. He had simple pleasures, too, often indulging in his favorite snacks like popcorn and delicious Mexican food, or sharing a pizza with family and friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents Thomas E. Fisher and Mary Austerman Fisher.

At this time, we ask that everyone keep the family in your prayers and thoughts. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
