Miriam Rees, age 82 of New Paris, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Friday November 5, 2021. She was born in Richmond, Indiana on April 10, 1939, to Virgil O. Cox and Ruth M. Warren Finley. Miriam was a lifetime member of First Christian Church and graduated from Richmond High School in 1957. She married John Richard Rees on May 4, 1958, in First Christian Church. Miriam was an amazing cook, she enjoyed canning and freezing fruits and vegetables from the garden to use later in the year. She was an avid reader and collected a number of books. One of her favorite things to do was to sit on the outside patio swing, read and visit with neighbors or talk with her husband.

After her children were married, she enjoyed the company of two dogs, Taffi and Sasha over the years and loved them fiercely. Miriam also loved seeing her grandchildren whenever possible and was so proud to be a great grandma too-always quick to share a photo with anyone.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband John Richard Rees; children Teri (Todd) Lee, Dan (Melissa) Rees; grandchildren Kayla (Mike) Goetz, Tyler and Travis Rees; great grandchildren Teddy and Archer Goetz. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday November 11, 2021 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Dr. Russell Haitch will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
