Norman H. Neal, age 88, of Richmond, died Tuesday morning (March 24, 2009) at Golden Living Center - Oakridge. He was born in Richmond on February 22, 1921 to Roy and Katherine Sittloh Neal and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and a retired employee of Alcoa. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. Norman was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a member and past president of the local AFL-CIO, of the Conservation Club and of the Richmond Senior Center. Survivors include his wife of 63 years - Maxine Neal; daughter - Norma Kay (Paul) Smith of Santa Maria, California; grandchildren - Sarah Carter Smith and Neal Taylor Smith; nieces and nephews. Public graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday (March 28, 2009) in South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, Indiana. Rev. Chris Saylor will officiate. There will be no public visitation.
