Patsy Jo Baker, born on April 2nd,1950, in Richmond, IN, to her parents Clarence (Tom) and Joyce Baker. She lived a life filled with love, joy and worship surrounded by friends and family until her peaceful passing on April 14th at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. Patsy was 74 years old.

Patsy attended and graduated from Richmond High Schools in 1968. She spent the remainder of her life around Wayne County.

Patsy obtained her Master's Degree from Ball State University in Education. She was an Educator for 47 ½ years and spent 44 ½ of those years in Richmond Community Schools. She was a beloved member of Fairview Elementary School. She was the Richmond Education Association President for 6 years. Patsy was an advocate and mentor to many students and fellow colleagues.. She would fight for those who couldn't fight for themselves and was always a helping hand to anyone in need.

In Patsy's free time she enjoyed traveling to Georgia to see her cousins, whom she loved dearly, and anywhere there was a beach and sunshine. She was always ready for her next trip with friends and family. Patsy was always cooking meals for friends and family and this brought her great joy! Patsy had many hobbies which included gardening, taking long walks on country roads and bird watching. She also loved collecting nativity sets and she was never happy unless she had a good tan!

Patsy was an active member of Bethel AME Church and Gospel Revs of Earlham College. She loved to sing in the choir and be in the presence of her wonderful church family. This brought her great joy.
To know Patsy was to love Patsy. She will be remembered as fun, feisty, and faithful. She loved everyone and was a light in this world! She took pride in helping those in need. She loved life and you could always see that radiating from her. She was welcoming and kind to any and everyone without judgment.
In her final moments more than a handful of people said "I would not be who I am today without Patsy Baker." She always wanted to make a difference in the lives of those around her, and she definitely did. She was truly loved by so many!
