Dr. Pedro C. Rodriguez, age 83, of Richmond, died Tuesday afternoon (July 17, 2007)at Reid Hospital.� He was born in Manzanillo, Cuba on� April 3, 1924 to Pedro and Encarnita Claveria Rodriguez and had lived in Richmond since 1970.� He was a graduate of the Havana University Medical School and served his internship and residency at the Greenpoint Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.� He was one of three local physicians to initiate the emergency medicine department at Reid Hospital.� He was a member of Saint Mary Church.

Survivors include his sons - Peter Rodriguez of Tucson, AZ;� Carlos Rodriguez of New� York; brother - Carlos Rodriguez of Chicago; sister - Gladis Cao of Framingham, MA;

Grandson - Carlos Rodriguez, Jr. of New York; four nieces and nephews.

His wife, Georgina Rodriguez, died on January 23, 2006.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Friday (July 20, 2007) in Saint Mary Church.� The family will receive friends following the mass.� Memorial contributions may be made to the Pedro and Georgina Rodriguez Scholarship Fund in care of Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.� www.riggle-waltermann.com
