Obituary

Phillip R. Kidd, age 71, of Richmond, died Wednesday morning (January 11, 2012) at Reid Hospital. He was born in New Castle, Indiana on May 18, 1940 to Sherrill and Beulah Davis Kidd. He was a graduate of Mooreland High School, a 1964 graduate of Olivet Nazarene College and received his master's degree from Ball State University in 1964. Phil was a retired Vice President/Trust Officer for Second National Bank (Star Bank) and had taught economics at Indiana University East. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He loved barbership chorus singing and was a member of the Magic City Music Men. He was an avid fisherman, loved telling stories and was very fond of meeting with his Tuesday "lunch bunch". He was a member of Richmond Lodge #196 F & AM. Survivors include his wife - Joyce Kidd; daughter - Victoria (Brian) Cromis of Richmond; brother - William (Sharon) Kidd of St. Johns, Michigan; godson - Kolton Caltrider of St. Johns Michigan; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, a brother, Charles Kidd, and a sister, Alice Greenlee, are also deceased. Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday (January 16, 2012) in Central United Methodist Church (1425 East Main Street - Richmond). Rev. Phillip Dorrell will officiate. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, Indiana. Friends may call on Sunday (January 15, 2012) from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary (32 South 11th Street - Richmond). www.riggle-waltermann.com
