Phyllis June Alsop, a woman of strength and character passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 17, 2024 at Arbor Trace. She was born and raised in New Paris, Ohio and attended Miami University. Phyllis positively impacted many lives in her time here on earth. Phyllis and Floyd ran Alsop's grill for 47 years. Many will remember her amazing memory and friendly yet efficient manner. 'She never wrote anything down'.
Phyllis attended First Baptist Church and Lifespring Church. She had a strong belief in God and lived a life exemplifying it. She believed in movement and exercise and stayed active into her 90's. Her brisk walk earned her the nickname of 'Hot Rod'. She loved and strongly influenced her grandchildren. Phyllis will be remembered as a hard worker and a kind person with a generous spirit.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Kay (Steve) Koger and son Gary Alsop; sister JoAnn Hoover; grandchildren Aaron Koger (Alexandra), Gary (Zoe) Alsop, Chris Alsop (Amanda Zaklukiewicz), Ashlee (Richie) Rodriguez; great-grandchildren Harvey Floyd Koger, Landon Rodriguez, Layton Rodriguez and Averie Rodriguez; nieces and nephews and special friends Cindy Murray and Tonja Thompson. In addition to her parents Clarence Everett and Olive "Lakie" Stegall, Phyllis is preceded by her husband Floyd Lee Alsop; brothers Thomas Stegall and Everett "Bud" Stegall; sister Clarice McFaddin.
Rev. Phillip Hodgkin will officiate services for Phyllis at 11:00am on Monday September 23, 2024 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will immediately follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Sunday September 22, 2024 from 5-7pm at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary.
