It is with great sadness that the family of Reva Shaw announce her passing Thursday September 26, 2024. Although Reva will be greatly missed, we know she is in a better place. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her memory will forever live on. The family would like to send a special "Thank You" to the wonderful staff at Friends Fellowship for their tremendous help and care during Reva's final days. We thank all who treated and helped her over the years, as well as the continued support to her family.
Reva was born October 9, 1937 to Earl and Allie Boian in Estill County, Kentucky. She was the youngest of 4 children, sister Elsie Arvin, brother Charles Boian and brother Billy Boian. As a teenager Reva moved to Centerville, IN with her parents. There she met her future husband, Richard "Dick" Shaw, they married in 1954 and had two children. Reva and Dick parted ways in the 70's, however they continued a close relationship enjoying the company of their joint family.
Reva graduated from Ivy Tech with an Associates degree in Computer Science. She then moved to Texas where her daughter, son in law and granddaughter lived. She worked as an IT Operations Manager until her retirement. Reva returned to Indiana to spend time with her son, daughter in law, granddaughters and great grandsons.
Reva was a fierce, strong woman. She overcame many obstacles in her life, including being a Breast Cancer survivor. She was at her happiest watching her great grandsons excel in sports and spending time with her family and friends. Reva was an avid Harley enthusiast and enjoyed traveling in her RV, pulling her Softail behind her and riding the countryside. She loved playing cards, especially 6 handed euchre, and bus trips with friends.

Thoughts from Reva
So in the end, remember… do your best, follow your dreams, and make something amazing out of your life.
If you want to, you can look for me in the evening sunset or during the earliest spring happily riding my Harley and living my best life. You know I'll be there loving each and every one of you. Of course that will probably comfort some while antagonizing others, but you know me… it's what I do.
I'll leave you with this…please don't cry because I'm gone; instead be happy that I was here. (Or maybe you can cry a little bit. After all, I have passed away).
Dr. Darrell Kepler will officiate services at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will immediately follow in Earlham cemetery resting next to her former husband, Richard Shaw. Visitation will take place from 11am-1pm prior to the service on Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Reva's name to The American Cancer Society
