Richard L. Helmick, age 78, of Richmond, died Wednesday (January 14, 2009) at his residence. He was born in Garrett County, Maryland on May 5, 1930 to Mordie and Virgie Keiper Helmick and had lived in this area for over 20 years. He was a mechanic and had served in the US Navy with the Seabees. Survivors include his daughter - Jeanne Maschari of South Amherst, Ohio; sister - Janet (Everett) Snyder of Lewisburg, Ohio; grandsons - Chad and Dustin Braley and great granddaughter - Mya Braley; nephews - James Morrow of Camden, Ohio, Steve Helmick of West Carrollton, Ohio; nieces - Shirley (Eddie) Back of Germantown, Ohio, Tabitha Booso of Eaton, Ohio and Kim Bratcher of Eaton, Ohio In addition to his parents, a sister, Blondell Morrow, and brother, Eugene Helmick are deceased No sevices or visitation are planned.
