Richard W. Porter, age 83, of Richmond, died Thursday evening (October 18, 2012) at his residence. He was born in Richmond on August 2, 1929 to Richard and Mildred Bettenbroke Porter and had lived here all of his life. He had worked in construction and was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife of sixty four years - Betty Porter; son - Rick (Nancy) Porter of Richmond; granddaugher - Jeannie Porter of West Lafayette, Indiana; great granddaughter - Haley Hittle of Richmond; great grandsons - Ricky Porter of New Castle and Brandon Scott Porter of Kentucky; sisters - Dorothy (Howard) Pierce of Grove City, Pennsylvania and Marilyn (Dick) Stevens of Richmond. His grandson, Ricky Porter, died August 22, 1992. In addition to his parents and grandson, two brothers - Ralph and Robert Porter and his sister - Barbara Gross are also deceased. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday (October 22, 2012) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Robert Meckley will officiate. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery.
