Richard A. Roots, age 84, of Richmond, died Tuesday morning (May 27, 2014) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Richmond on August 22, 1929 to Francis P. and Mary Grunden Roots and was a 1948 graduate of Richmond High School. Richard served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years and moved back to this area in 1990. Survivors include three step-children, Christine McArthur of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Cynthia Corey of Burkburnett, Texas, Kenneth Kilcreafe of Hemet, California; brother, William (Ada) Roots of Richmond, Indiana; sister, Patricia Hymer of Cincinnati, Ohio; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His wife, Maxine Roots, is also deceased. Services and burial will be handled by the Owens - Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas.
