Richard E. Schuerman, age 87, of Richmond, died Tuesday morning (February 8, 2005) at Friends Fellowship Community. He was born in Richmond on January 21, 1918 to Walter and Edna Canan Schuerman and had lived in the Richmond area all of his life. He was a 1936 graduate of Morton High School, a 1940 graduate of Earlham College and a 1963 graduate of the Earlham Institute for Executive Growth. He worked his entire life in the consumer finance industry in various executive positions. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church and of the Richmond Rotary Club. His wife, Evelyn Layden Schuerman, died October 31, 2002.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday (February 14, 2005) in First English Lutheran Church, 2727 East Main Street. Rev. John Walker and Rev. Brian Derrer will officiate. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests immediately following the memorial service at the church.
