Richard E. Stubbs, age 81, of Richmond, died Thursday morning (August 25, 2011) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Wayne County, Indiana on March 26, 1930 to Russell and Mildred Pentecost Stubbs and had lived in this area all of his life. He was a graduate of Greens Fork High School and was a retired vice president of the former Second National Bank. He was a member of Saint Andrew Church and was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels and for Reid Hospital in medical records. He currently served on the board of directors for Interfaith Housing. Survivors include his wife of sixty two years - Betty Stubbs; son - Wayne (Jackie) Stubbs of Elkhart, Indiana; daughters - Kathy (Gary) TenBrink of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Karen (Jim) Morford of Kalamazoo, Michigan; sister - Rev. Carol Smith of Kansas City, Kansas; grandchildren - Jason (Susan) TenBrink, Kari (Kevin) Marcial, Amy TenBrink, Nicholas Stubbs, Alec Stubbs; 5 great grandchildren. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday (August 27, 2011) in Saint Andrew Church. Father Todd Riebe will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (August 26, 2011) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
