Obituary

Richard N. Turpin, age 80, of Richmond, died Sunday November 18, 2007 at Golden Rule Living Center from complications of Alzheimer's.� �A native of Indiana, he was born in Bloomington on October 30, 1927 to Richard and Clarice Nicholson Turpin.� He was a graduate of Indiana University with a degree in physics.� He joined IGA Headquarters in Chicago and became an executive vice president, traveling all over the USA conducting workshops and seminars in personnel and corporate development.� He left IGA in 1989 and co-founded D & R Biotechs in Salt Lake City, Utah where he lived until 1998 when he and his wife moved to Richmond.� He loved classical music and was an avid reader and traveler who never took the same route home.�He is survived by his wife of 49 years - Jean Turpin;� his daughter Wesley of Hollywood, California;� brother-in-law - Robert Mallett of Richmond; niece Amy Lynch; nephews - Jeff Mallett, Rob, David and Michael Turpin.� He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Mallett, and brother, Thomas Turpin.�The family wishs to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Golden Rule Living Center whose care and kindness provided a loving home for Richard for the past 3 years and to his many friends at Adult Day Care who so enriched his life.� He was a gentleman and will be greatly missed. �No public visitation or services are planned.� Memorial contributions may be made to Adult Day Care of Richmond.� 2727 East Main St., Richmond, Indiana� 47374.� Arrangements are being handled by Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. www.riggle-waltermann.com
