Robert H. "Bob" Cain, age 94, of Richmond, died Saturday morning (January 18, 2014) at Reid Hospital. He was born on April 5, 1919 to Thomas Christopher and Armina Ann (Whitmore) Cain and was a resident of Wayne County most of his life. Mr. Cain attended Richmond High School and was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during World War II, where he was part of a crew flying bombing missions in the North Pacific. He also served in the Korean Conflict. He married Sylvia Joan "Jo" Brandley on January 15, 1942. Bob is survived by his daughter, Gail Cain (Sam Hasegawa), of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his son, Craig Cain, of Richmond, Indiana; four grandchildren, Salim Cain (Heather) of San Jose, California and Jenny, Cody and Will Cain of Nashville, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Cain, and brothers Jim, Onie, Chelmer and R.C. Cain. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday (April 5, 2014) where the family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. The family has requested no flowers. Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
