Obituary

Robert E. Daugherty, age 64, formerly of Richmond, died Monday evening (February 7, 2011) at Saint Vincent Hospital. He was born in Richmond on September 2, 1946 to James W. and Thelma Baker Daugherty and was a graduate of Richmond High School. He moved to Indianapolis about thirty years ago and was the owner of T.T.S. (Tool and Technology Services) and a participant in the operation of Billy O'Neal's Pub and Eatery. Bob was an avid golfer and was a four-time Richmond City Amateur Champion. He was a US Army veteran where he served in Viet Nam. Upon his return to Fort Hood, Texas he served on the first Army Golf Team and was a teammate with Orville (Sarge) Moody who later won the US Open Championship. He was an active participant with the Indiana Golf Association playing in numerous state events and also qualifying for many national events. He was a long-time member of Forest Hills Country Club (Richmond) and belonged to Country Club of Indianapolis and to Wolf Run Country Club. He was inducted into the Richmond Golf Hall of Fame in 2004 and was a contributor to the First Tee Program. Survivors include his son - Lucas Starritt of Richmond; brother - James (Debbie) Daugherty of Richmond; nephew - Ryan (Melissa Bishop) Daugherty of Indianapolis; special friends - Becky Wannick, Ernie Kelly and Diane Johnson all of Indianapolis A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Saturday (February 12, 2011) in Saint Andrew Church (235 South 5th St., Richmond). Friends may call on Saturday (February 12, 2011) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.
