Robert W. Rodenberg, age 82, of Richmond, died Saturday morning (January 18, 2014) at Reid Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Richmond on August 28, 1931 to Verlin "Pinky" and Helen Turner Rodenberg and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and a veteran of the US Army. Bob was a pattern maker and a retired employee of the Union City Body Company. He and his wife Janice enjoyed traveling to and participating in knife and gun shows. They also enjoyed craft shows and festivals. Bob loved spending time with his family. He was an accomplished woodworker and loved playing the drums. He was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Janice Sigel Rodenberg; daughters, Lesa (Bill) Townsend of Warrenton, Virginia, Lori Rodenberg of Richmond; grandchildren, Nicole M. (Reid) Bowen, William L. (Rebecca) Townsend III, Robert S. Abrams, Danielle N. Carpenter; great grandchildren, Carson D. Bowen, Zachary W. Bowen, Zoey R. Carpenter, Olivia L. Townsend; nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, a brother, Richard Rodenberg, is also deceased. Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (January 25, 2014) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Robert Meckley will officiate. Entombment will be in Earlham Mausoleum. Friends may call on Saturday (January 25, 2014) from 9:00 a.m. To 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
