Rochelle V. Oakes, age 71, of Richmond, died Saturday morning (March 9, 2013) at Reid Hospital. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 9, 1941 to James and Ann Janda D'Amore and had lived here for the past 21 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Rock Solid Ministries. Her husband, Jack Edward Oakes, died on May 16, 2009. Survivors include her sons, James (Glenda) Oakes of Richmond and Dave (Deanna) Oakes of Richmond; sister, Michalene Chase of Batavia, Illinois; grandson, James Alan Oakes; great grandsons, Xavier Oakes, Quentin Oakes, Jaxson Oakes. In addition to her parents and husband, a sister, Ann D'Amore, is also deceased. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday (March 12, 2013) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
