Ruth N. Daggy, age 84, of Richmond, passed away unexpectedly Sunday (February 5, 2012) at her home. She passed peacefully with her best 4-legged buddy, "Buckley", by her side. She was born in Richmond on May 11, 1927 to Frank and Muriel Marie Kelsey Close and had lived in this area all of her life. Ruth was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She unselfishly devoted her heart and life to those she loved. She always had a smile and gentle touch for those who crossed her path. Those who knew her never knew what she was going to say or do next, but whatever it was caused people to smile and laugh; leaving them with numerous heartfelt memories. She was a graduate of Richmond High School and was retired from teaching at Green Acres (Achieva Resources). She had also worked with her husband in the operation of Jack Daggy Flowers and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Her husband, Jack Daggy, died August 24, 2004 and her son, Jad Daggy, died November 16, 2007. Survivors include her children - Sherry McClain, Cathy (Tom) Brunner and Jim (Kim) Daggy all of Richmond; daughter-in-law - Darlene Daggy of Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren - Dru (Kristin) McClain, Emily (Adam Culbertson) McClain, Michael (Sara) Daggy, Jamie (Sean) Abrams, Katie Daggy, Amy (Duane, Jr.) White, Kasie Brunner, Shelbianne Brunner, Justin Daggy, Jessica Daggy; 10 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Two brothers and two sisters are also deceased. Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (February 11, 2012) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Pam Wooden will officiate. Burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (February 10, 2012) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
